Project guide
How AX works, how to host your own catalog, and where to find the source.
Project
Explore the stalls.
Browse apps and visit their projects. Installation and updates are handled separately.
Technical responsibilities
AX owns discovery catalogs, source configuration, marketplace presentation, branding, and commercial context. The published Arcane SDK supplies portable app contracts and runtime files. Core/OS owns installation, updates, launch operations, and the installed-app catalog.
AX presents complete catalog text and links as marketplace content and exposes no install, update, launch, credential, permission, or rollback controls.
The portable package carries the SDK browser runtime. Installation and installed-app operations remain separate Core/OS responsibilities.
Private deployments
Credentials stay behind the gate.
Requires a dedicated deployment. No private or intranet market is connected on this public site.
For private catalogs, host AX and the catalog together behind organizational access controls, or use an organization-owned gateway or Core-owned broker. That host manages access and credentials.
Never place tokens, private inventory, intranet hostnames, customer data, regulated data, or classified metadata in a public AX catalog or URL. Keep those materials with the private deployment that owns them.
The public Pages deployment offers credential-free custom catalog sources. The checked-in Arcane package uses its same-origin built-in catalog. Core-hosted deployments can select other sources through their own host configuration.
Intranet deployment guide
A bazaar inside your network.
Requires a dedicated deployment.
Serve AX inside the network that can reach your catalog. Configure its source list for same-origin or HTTPS catalogs, and choose whether users can add sources or retain source preferences. Network access and credentials remain with the deployment host.
Keep internal catalog names, hostnames, and inventory out of this public site. The public Bazaar Floor does not connect to your internal network.
Ownership
Know what a listing means.
Publisher, version, maturity, access, and availability fields describe a listing. AX presents those details without turning them into installation state or Core operations.
Corresponding source
Behind the bazaar.
The public source-download page provides the complete corresponding source for the published Arcane Exchange development site. Portable app bundles also include the Arcane SDK license, commercial license, and notice files supplied with their included SDK components.
